A French romance film directed by Michel Hazanavicius, starring Jean Dujardin and Bérénice Bejo. It’s another collaboration between Dujardin and Hazanavicius, who previously worked together on spy flick spoofs “OSS 117”. It is a silent film and shot in black and white, tells the story of the last great silent movie star and his relationship with an extra who slowly becomes one to watch on the talkie circuit. The film was a late entry to premiere ‘In Competition’ at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival, but the first to make a sales splash with The Weinstein Company makes a deal to acquire U.S. and multiple international territories on it.
