Also known as “From Up On Poppy Hill”, is an upcoming Studio Ghibli’s anticipated anime directed by Gorō Miyazaki (宫崎吾朗), with a script co-written by the director’s father, Hayao (宫崎骏), and Keiko Niwa (丹羽圭子), co-author of the scripts for “The Borrower Arrietty” (借东西的小人阿莉埃蒂, 2010) and “Tales from Earthsea” (地海战记, 2006). Based on the manga of the same name by Tetsuo Sayama and Chizuru Takahashi, the story revolves around a group of Yokohama teens look to save their school’s clubhouse from the wrecking ball in preparations for the 1964 Tokyo Olympics. The voice actors for the main characters includes Masami Nagasawa (长泽雅美) and Junichi Okada (冈田准一).

The film featuring the music composed by Satoshi Takebe (武部聪志), and Aoi Teshima (手嶌葵), who played the role of Theru and sang the theme song in the Gorō Miyazaki’s directorial debut film “Tales from Earthsea”, will also be singing the theme song vocals for this film which is scheduled to be released on July 16, 2011 in Japan.
