An upcoming 3D-CGI feature based on Dr. Seuss' children’s book of the same name. It will be released on March 2, 2012, what would have been the 108th birthday of Seuss, who died at the age of 87 in 1991. The film will be the fourth Dr. Seuss-based feature film and the second Dr. Seuss adaption fully computer-animated after “Horton Hears a Who!”. It is directed by Chris Renaud (Despicable Me), and co-directed by Kyle Balda. The screenplay was written by Ken Daurio and Cinco Paul, the duo who also wrote the script for Blue Sky’s “Horton Hears a Who!”. Audrey Geisel, Dr. Seuss' wife, is exec-producing, and Chris Meledandri, who managed “Horton Hears a Who!” at Fox Animation, is producing the film.

The animated adventure follows the journey of a boy as he searches for the one thing that will enable him to win the affection of the girl of his dreams. To find it he must discover the story of the Lorax, the grumpy yet charming creature who fights to protect his world. Danny DeVito was lend his vocal talents to the iconic title character of the Lorax, while Ed Helms is voiced the enigmatic Once-ler. Also bringing their talents to the film are global superstars Zac Efron as Ted, the idealistic young boy who searches for the Lorax, and Taylor Swift as Audrey, the girl of Ted’s dreams. Rob Riggle is played financial king O'Hare, and beloved actress Betty White is portrayed Ted’s wise Grammy Norma.
