An upcoming 3D supernatural horror film based on the 2010 mashup novel Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter. The film is directed by Russian filmmaker Timur Bekmambetov (Night/Day Watch series, Wanted) and is produced by Bekmambetov and Tim Burton. The novel’s author, Seth Grahame-Smith, wrote the adapted screenplay with Simon Kinberg (xXx: State of the Union, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, X-Men: The Last Stand, Jumper, This Means War).
The real-life figure Abraham Lincoln, the 16th President of the United States (1861–1865), is fictionally portrayed in the novel and the film as having a secret identity as a vampire hunter. Playing the titular character is relative newcomer Benjamin Walker, and alongside him stand his wife, Mary Todd Lincoln (Mary Elzabeth Winstead), his vampire-huting mentor Henry Sturges (Dominic Cooper) and Rufus Sewell as the big bad vampire.
