BLUE IS THE WARMEST COLOR (French: La Vie d'Adèle – Chapitres 1 & 2 – “The Life of Adèle – Chapters 1 & 2”), also known as Adele: Chapters 1 & 2, is a French drama film written, produced, and directed by Abdellatif Kechiche (Games of Love and Chance, The Secret of the Grain). It won the Palme d'Or at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival, and became the first film to be awarded the prize to both the director and the main actresses, Adèle Exarchopoulos and Léa Seydoux (Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol).

Based on the 2010 French graphic novel Blue Angel (“Le Bleu est une couleur chaude”) by Julie Maroh, the film centers on Adèle (Adèle Exarchopoulos), a 15-year-old girl who aspires to become a teacher, but her life is turned upside down when she meets Emma (Léa Seydoux), a blue-haired art student at a nearby college, who instigates a romance.
