Debut Trailer for Sundance Jazz Biopic LOW DOWN with John Hawkes & Elle Fanning

LOW DOWN is a biographical drama which marks the feature directorial debut of New York-based cinematographer Jeff Preiss, and executive produced by Anthony Kiedis and Flea (who also co-stars in the film) of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. The film premiered in competition at 2014 Sundance Film Festival where it won the Cinematography Award: U.S. Dramatic.

Based on the memoirs written by Amy-Jo Albany (portrayed by Elle Fanning), the film is a compassionate, tender look at the complex relationship between Amy-Jo and her father Joe Albany (portrayed by John Hawkes), a man torn between his musical ambition, his devotion to his teenage daughter, and his suffocating heroin addiction.

Lena Headey, Caleb Landry Jones, Peter Dinklage, and Glenn Close also star in the film.
