PADDINGTON is an upcoming CG-live action family film produced by Gravity and Harry Potter producer David Heyman. Written and directed by Paul King, best known for cult British comedy shows like The Mighty Boosh and Come Fly With Me, it marks first film adaptation of author Michael Bond’s long-running series of children’s books that first debuted in 1958.
The film featuring Ben Whishaw (who replacing Colin Firth) as the voice of Paddington, along with Jim Broadbent, Julie Walters, Sally Hawkins, Downton Abbey’s Hugh Bonneville and Nicole Kidman as the villainess Millicent. Michael Gambon and Imelda Staunton also joined the star-studded cast as the voices of Uncle Pastuzo and Aunt Lucy.
The story follows the comic misadventures of a young Peruvian bear with a passion for all things British who travels to London in search of a home. Finding himself lost and alone at Paddington Station, he begins to realize that city life is not all he had imagined - until he meets the kindly Brown family who offer him a temporary haven.
