JACKIE is an upcoming biographical drama film directed by Pablo Larraín (No, The Club, Neruda) and written by Noah Oppenheim (The Maze Runner, Allegiant), about Camelot’s first lady Jacqueline Kennedy. It stars Natalie Portman as the titular character, with Greta Gerwig, Peter Sarsgaard, Max Casella, Beth Grant, Billy Crudup, Richard E. Grant and John Hurt in supporting roles.
JACKIE is a searing and intimate portrait of one of the most important and tragic moments in American history, seen through the eyes of the iconic First Lady, then Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy (Portman). The film places us in her world during the days immediately following her husband's assassination. Known for her extraordinary dignity and poise, here we see a psychological portrait of the First Lady as she struggles to maintain her husband’s legacy and the world of “Camelot” that they created and loved so well.
The film was selected to compete for the Golden Lion at the 73rd Venice International Film Festival and also screened at the 2016 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). It has received acclaim from critics, with Portman's performance receiving unanimous praise.
