Debut Trailer for TIFF Drama CHAPPAQUIDDICK starring Jason Clarke as Ted Kennedy

CHAPPAQUIDDICK is a biographical drama film directed by John Curran (The Painted Veil, Tracks) and written by Taylor Allen and Andrew Logan. It was screened in the Gala Presentations section at the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival. The film stars Jason Clarke, Kate Mara, Ed Helms, Bruce Dern, Jim Gaffigan, and Taylor Nichols.

Nearly five decades ago, on July 18, 1969, a car went off the Dike Bridge on the island of Chappaquiddick. The driver, Ted Kennedy (Clarke) escaped. His 28-year-old passenger, Mary Jo Kopechne (Mara), did not. The film attempts to tell the story of what happened that night and why it took Kennedy some ten hours to report the accident to the local Edgartown police.
